What a Tool!

Issue #229  (Font Pack Review, Productivity, React Native, Build/Deploy)12/07/17

The following intro is a paid product review for a set of 120+ unique typefaces from MightyDeals.

If you're a designer or do some design work as part of your development stack, then you're probably often on the lookout for new and unique typefaces to use in your work.

If that's the case, you'll definitely want to check out this Autumn Font Sale from MightyDeals: 120+ Unique, Premium Typefaces (31 Font Families) for $9. This deal is marked down from a regular price of $1550. I know that sounds like a gimmick, and I was skeptical at first too. I'll explain the pricing in a moment, but first I wanted to give you a quick sampling of some of the typefaces in this package that I really like.

Les Paul (I'm a guitar player so this one caught my eye):

Chameleon:

Ace of Spades:

Jack's Guitar (obviously!):

Fenway Sans (I'm a baseball fan too):

That should give you a pretty good idea of the variety. I especially love the number of vintage-style fonts included. But the collection also includes cartoony, modern, fancy styles, and more.

What about the price? As mentioned, it's $9, discounted from $1550. The reason for the huge discount in this case has to do with licensing. These are desktop fonts in OTF and TTF format that can be used in personal and commercial projects. However, this deal includes an extended license that allows you to use the typefaces in a product offered for sale. You can read the full "Deal terms" at the bottom of the deal page.

Finally, I should note that for an extra $3 you can get both the Desktop and Web fonts. Most of you are probably interested in these for web-based designs, so that might be the more attractive offer.

You can check out the deal here, where you'll find all 31 typefaces on display.

Now on to this week's tools!
